The idea behind this blog is to provide insight into the Pi Network cryptocurrency and how we can get involved. The Pi Network is still in its beta phase but there are already millions of users on the network who are mining Pi Cryptocurrency everyday.

The Pi Network app aims to make crypto mining accessible to everyone, even people who do not have powerful phones or laptops. Due to its low barrier of entry, the Pi Network has attracted a large number of users who otherwise might never have heard about cryptocurrencies.

Currently, I am working on creating a user’s guide to the Pi Network so that new members can understand how it all works. There is also a ton of information that I will be sharing in regards to my own experiences with the app and how it works in practice. This will be updated regularly as more features are added and I learn more about the project.

What is cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is a new form of digital money that uses encryption techniques to control the creation of new currency units and the transfer of funds. Cryptocurrencies are not issued or regulated by any central bank. Instead, they are powered by a community of people who use their computers to solve mathematical equations that verify transactions on the blockchain, which is a distributed ledger (record) of all transactions taking place across the network. This process is known as mining. The network relies on consensus from this community to be secure and tamper-proof.

Pi is a new cryptocurrency for and by everyday people that you can “mine” (or earn) from your phone. Cryptocurrencies are new form of digital money that are maintained and secured by a community, instead of by governments or banks. Today, you can mine (or earn) Pi by helping to secure the currency and by growing Pi’s trusted network.

Pi is the first digital currency for everyday people, representing a major step forward in the adoption of cryptocurrency worldwide. It is easy to use and requires no technical knowledge to get started. Existing cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, have been primarily limited to the realms of financial speculation and high-tech novelty – until now.

With over 10 million members worldwide, Pi Network unlocks the door to mainstream adoption. On its way to becoming a widely used currency, Pi can be easily mined on mobile phones by anyone without technical expertise.

Currently available in private beta on Android and iOS, Pi is developing a suite of products that will allow users to earn, transact and manage their wealth in Pi.

Pi’s core technical features and qualities include:

* Decentralized: Pi does not belong to any country or organization. It is governed by everyone that uses it.

* Pi is fairly distributed: Anyone with a smartphone can mine (or earn) Pi. There is no sale or pre-mining of the currency.

* Secure: State-of-the-art cryptography ensures that transactions and accounts are safe from hacking attacks.

* Environmental sustainability: Electricity used for proof-of-work comes from renewable sources such as solar and geothermal power, which have very low marginal costs.
