We are excited to announce that the Plutus team will be holding the first ever official launch party on the 27th of January 2016, from 6 pm in The Dubliner Irish Pub in Berlin, Germany.
The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and how they work. You will be able to see our bitcoin debit card, the Plutus Tap & Pay app and our fully functional prototype. We will also give away a Trezor hardware wallet!
Members of the Plutus team will be available for any questions you might have about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The Director of Engineering, Pavel Kravchenko Ph.D., will also be there to talk about the cryptography behind Bitcoin, which he wrote his thesis on.

What’s a Plutus Launch Party?
We’re not just launching a new product, we’re launching a whole new way of paying for things. We’re launching a new type of currency and we’re doing it with Bitcoin.
We’ve developed a brand new system that allows people to spend bitcoins anywhere, whether they accept the digital currency or not. We call it Plutus and it opens up Bitcoin up to the real world.
Plutus is going live on January 27th and we’re inviting everyone in London down to join us at our launch party at the JuJu bar in Chelsea (www.jujulondon.com) between 6pm-9pm where we’ll be giving away free beer, wine, and food; all purchased with bitcoins!
And yes, there will be free bitcoins too…

The Plutus app is built on the idea that cryptocurrencies should be as easy to spend with as existing payment cards.
The Plutus app allows users to spend cryptocurrency anywhere in the world where contactless payments are accepted and earn rewards in the form of Plutons. These rewards can be exchanged for bitcoins.
Plutus is an upcoming decentralised cryptocurrency exchange, which will allow users to trade between fiat and crypto currencies using a mobile app. Users will also be able to use the app to make contactless payments at any retailer that accepts Visa or MasterCard contactless payments. The PlutusDEX decentralised exchange is set to launch in Q1 2016.
Cryptocurrency is the future of financial transactions. It’s decentralized, anonymous and has irreversible transactions. This means that you are in full control of your money, no one can confiscate it or freeze your account. With cryptocurrency there are no more charge-backs for merchants and it’s a lot cheaper to send money across borders.
The problem with cryptocurrency today is that it’s still not very accessible to people who don’t have technical knowledge or aren’t used to the command line interface. We believe that the best way to increase adoption is lower the barrier of entry and make it as easy as possible to use cryptocurrency.
Plutus was founded in 2014 by Danial Daychopan with the vision of eliminating these problems and making cryptocurrency accessible to everyone. Plutus is an ecosystem which combines a contactless debit card, mobile app and decentralised exchange (DEX) to enable users to spend their bitcoin or ether at any NFC terminal, online or offline using the Plutus Tap & Pay app wherever Visa is accepted today.
