The entire top 10 list of cryptocurrencies by market capitalization has lost value over the last 24 hours. Bitcoin’s price is down 7 percent to $6,370 at press time, ether has lost 6 percent of its value to trade around $447 and XRP is trading at around 44 U.S. cents, down 5 percent on the day.
The total cryptocurrency market cap has been in decline since early May. At the beginning of May it was trading at around $450 billion but it has been falling sharply since then and fell below $300 billion for the first time since November 2017 on June 22.
